Makeup tutorial :: Gold and purple eyes

1. First of all I fill in my eyebrows with a pencil (11) and fix them with a brow gel (12). Then I apply a deep gold cream eyeshadow (4) with a flat synthetic brush (17) to the whole eyelid and gently blend the edges.

2. In the outer part of my eye I apply a deep purple eyeshadow (2) using a rounded brush and blend it outwards and towards the center of my eyelid.

3. I apply the same shade with an angled brush (16) to my lower lashline leaving out the inner corner. I make the line thicker in the outer part of my eye and extend it upwards.

4. Using a rouned brush (14) I apply a brighter purple (5) in the outer part of my eyelid and blend it towards the center; this time I put a thicker layer of colour. Then I gently blend the edges with a bigger fluffy brush (13). I do it from side to side because eyeshadow blended upwards doesn't look flattering on my eyes.

5. With a small synthetic brush (15) I push a gold pigment (9) to the center of my eyelid.

6. I apply a black waterproof eyepencil (8) to the waterline. I draw a black line along the upper lashline with a soft eyeliner pencil (10). It doesn't have to be tidy because I smudge it with  a brush. Then I apply a light eyeshadow (1) in my inner corners as a highlight.

7. Once again I apply a gold pigment and then blend it with a soft brush (13).

8. I apply a purple waterproof eyeliner pencil (7) to my waterline, and then with a brush I already used to apply purple eyeshadows (14) I gently smudge and blend the eyeshadow and pencil along the lower lashline.

9. Finally I curl my lashes and apply black mascara (6), apply a tiny bit of a highlighting powder (3) in the inner corner and to the brow bone. And that's it! Of course you can add some false lashes or glitter or whatever you want to make it more dramatic.

Makeup :: Bourjois, Flower Perfection Youth Extension Foundation

Flower Perfection by Bourjois is one of my favourite makeup items this year. I was intrugued by it mainly because of the cute glass bottle and shade range. I'm glad I bought it even though it was a bit pricey.

I really like the glass bottle with a pump. The idea of attaching a sponge to this foundation makes sense because this way Bourjois suggests the best method of application. Unfortunately that tiny sponge that comes in the bottle is completely useless - way too small, difficult to use.

The foundation is scented, quite thick. I was surprised how high the coverage is, almost as in Revlon  ColorStay. It gives a beautiful, almost airbrushed finish if applied with a sponge. You may also apply it with your fingers. I don't recommend using a foundation brush because it may go on streaky.

Flower Perfection is a foundation formulated for normal to combination skin and I don't recommend using it if your skin is dry. Flower Perfection gives a matte finish but not flat finish. Skin looks healthy and glowy but remember to exfoliate because it may accentuate every dry patch you might not be aware of. It blends perfectly and doesn't turn orange. On my combo skin it lasts all day although after about six hours I need to use blotting powder on my T-zone.

My shade is the lightest 51 Light Vanilla - just perfect. I like that is has SPF 15 in it. I wish it was a bit cheaper because for a drugstore foundation it's kind of pricey.
